Overview
We are Emoquo, a remote-first company looking for a tech lead to take over our Laravel 8 application.
Emoquo helps people be the best they can be at work. Our web application is both a digital coach and learning platform to enable employees to develop their soft-skills and to cope with the challenges that work throws their way.
We are looking for a full-time full-stack tech lead. Our head office is in the UK, so for timezone purposes, we welcome applications within Europe.
What your role will entail
Developing the Emoquo application
You will work closely with our head of product, as well as key stakeholders, in order to develop new features to the Emoquo application. The Emoquo application is primarily a Laravel 8 application, and in places it has a React frontend.
Emoquo is a well-tested application, and we would like you to maintain high standards of code-quality and test coverage.
Building a team
We would like you to help build the Emoquo developer team. Ideally, we would like you to help us hire locally to yourself, building out an Emoquo developer hub in your home location. As a lead, you will need to be able to manage a team of developers and junior developers.
Skills you will use
Required skills
- Fluency in English.
- 5+ years of experience with PHP and PHPUnit.
- 3+ years of experience with Laravel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Git.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relational databases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a modern Javascript framework (Vue/React).
Preferred skills
- Strong experience with Postgresql.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with Heroku.
Salary
- Competitive salary of £60k - £100k depending on experience and time zone difference (we strongly favour UK timezone +/- 2 hours).
